The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast seven races from the Shuka Sho Day at Kyoto Racecourse in Japan on Sunday, 13 October (first race 11.55am, Hong Kong time).
The Shuko Sho (G1 2000m for 3yo fillies) was introduced in 1996 to replace the Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup as the final leg of Japan’s Fillies’ Triple Crown. The outstanding ALMOND EYE won last year’s race to seal the Fillies’ Triple Crown. She went on to win the Japan Cup and was crowned Japan’s Horse of The Year, and was rated the joint best three-year-old filly in the 2018 edition of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings.
The details of supporting races will be announced later in the week.
Final declarations with barrier draws for the Shuka Sho will be available on Friday, 11 October, while the final declarations with barrier draws for the other races will be published at HKJC.com on Saturday, 12 October.
