Korea Sprint and Korea Cup to be simulcast for betting

01/09/2019 12:46

On Sunday, 8 September, the Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting the Korea Sprint and the Korea Cup from Seoul Racecourse during the afternoon Sha Tin race meeting.

The Korea Autumn Racing Carnival is now in its fourth year and features Korea’s two flagship international races, the Korea Sprint and the Korea Cup.

Representatives from the USA, Europe and Hong Kong will take on the host nation and attempt to claim a share of the KRW 1 billion on offer for each race.

Korea Sprint (S1-1) 2:05pm
The Korea Sprint (KOR G1, 1200m, Sand, for 3yo+) is a race in which Hong Kong-trained horses have had a good record in the past: Super Jockey won the inaugural running and Fight Hero was a narrow second in 2018. Hong Kong will rely this time on the Me Tsui-trained UGLY WARRIOR whose six career wins have been achieved over 1200m on Sha Tin’s All-Weather track.

Korea Cup (S1-2) 3:15pm
GLORIOUS ARTIST will carry Hong Kong hopes in the Korea Cup (KOR G1, 1800m, Sand, for 3yo+). Japan has won all three previous editions and will not be represented this year but the Frankie Lor-trained five-year-old will still have to produce a career best performance to rival the local elites and fellow challengers from the USA and Britain.

Hong Kong ace Vincent Ho will partner both Hong Kong horses.

Final declarations with barrier draws for the Korea races will be available on Friday, 6 September.
