30/08/2019 14:56

The Hong Kong Jockey Club purchased two colts at the recent Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale for a total cost of £310,000 (approximately HK$2.949 million).

The Club secured Lot 307 for £170,000. The athletic colt by Dandy Man – sire of G1 Hong Kong Sprint hero Peniaphobia – hails from a family with no shortage of quality and plenty of speed.

The bay is a full-brother to the talented sprinter Extortionist, winner of the G3 Coral Charge Sprint and Royal Ascot’s Listed Windsor Castle Stakes, and third in the G1 Nunthorpe Stakes.

The auctioneer’s hammer also fell in the Club’s favour for Lot 25, a £140,000 Fastnet Rock youngster from a high-class family. The attractive bay’s second dam, Take The Ribbon, scored at G3 level in the US and placed second in the G1 Garden City Breeders’ Cup Stakes. The family’s plentiful black type earners also include G1 scorers Good Magic, Magical Maiden and Miss Houdini.
