G3 – 1993m – Turf

1 Arthur Kitt Won first two races last year, including Listed race at Ascot before excellent 4th in G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Churchill Downs over 1600m. That may still be his best trip. Well beaten over further this year until runner-up in minor contest at Leicester. Little hope.
2 Buckhurst Still an unknown quantity. Improved to be runner-up in G3 race over 2000m at t\The Curragh last month and likely to improve further. An interesting outsider.
3 Cape Of Good Hope Attractive pedigree, progressive as two-year-old. This year won Listed race at Epsom over 2015m, from Cap Francais, then creditable 4th in G1 Prix du Jockey Club. Further progress expected, stiff finish should suit and an excellent chance.

Cap Francais

Plenty of ability. Returned this season with close 2nd to Cape Of Good Hope in Listed race at Epsom over 2015m. Then only 4th in Listed race at Lingfield, over five lengths behind Anthony Van Dyck. Latter won Derby, going at Lingfield over 2321m unhelpfully soft and lost shoe. Attractive outsider.
5 Eightsome Reel Bred and owned by the Queen. Able and improved form when runner-up in Listed race over 2000m at Newmarket last month. This likely to be too big a challenge.
6 Fox Chairman 450,000 guineas yearling. Didn’t run as two-year-old. Won maiden race impressively at Newbury then 3rd in good Listed contest at Chester, having troubled run then finishing well. Will improve and should be involved.
7 Getchagetchagetcha Overall form not good enough. Won 10 days ago when up in trip to 2363m but that was a small race (Arthur Kitt second). Will not be winning this.
8 Global Spectrum Won first three including valuable race in Qatar. Well held in G3 at Newmarket before 5th in G2 German 2000 Guineas (Great Scot 3rd). Not good enough.
9 Great Scot Tremendous bargain, cost 2,500 pounds as yearling. Won Listed race last year, runner up in G3 Greenham Stakes and third in G2 German 2000 Guineas this season. This is too big a challenge.
10 Headman Showed good turn of foot when likeable winner of handicap over 2000m at Newbury last month. Likely to improve again. Soft ground would probably be against him.
11

Kick On After winning a Listed race at Newmarket and running respectably when 7th in 2000 Guineas, disappointed badly in G1 Prix du Jockey Club (Cape Of Good Hope 4th). Looked as if failed to stay the 2100m. An unlikely winner.
12 King Ottokar Followed victory over 2000m in conditions race at Newbury with disappointing run in G3 Chester Vase over 2457m. Clearly failed to stay trip but still has to prove is up to this class.
13 Old Glory Decent form as a two-year-old and after being well beaten in Irish 2000 Guineas was close 3rd in Listed race at The Curragh. Improvement can be expected but probably not enough.
14 Roseman This 650,000 Euros yearling not seen last year. Progressive this season and finished good 2nd to King Of Comedy in Listed race over 1600m at Sandown (Sangarius 3rd). Needs to improve again and may do so.
15 Sangarius Won first two races as two-year-old, including Listed event and promising effort on sole run this year. Finished 3rd in strongly contested Listed race at Sandown over 1600m, looking uneasy on fast ground. Likely to do better over 2000m and a decent chance.
