Listed – 1993m – Turf

1 Dolphin Vista

Fifth in Lincoln Handicap in 2017 but last in that race last year. Revival after wind surgery and change of stable, winning Listed race at Ayr before well beaten in G3. Acts well on soft ground.

2 Elarqam
Cost 1.6 million guineas as a yearling and won a G3 race on only second run as a two-year-old. Fourth in last year’s 2000 Guineas and run respectably without reaching the top. Won Listed race recently and capable of going close.

3 Global Giant

Improved to run well in G3 races and win Listed race at Dundalk last year but not run since October, which raises doubts.

4 Master The World

Stalwart for veteran trainer David Elsworth but eight-year-old is in decline. Would be a shock winner.

5 Addeybb

Lightly raced five-year-old won 2018 Lincoln Handicap and this year run respectably in a G2 race. Should be at home in this company and has a fair chance.

6 First Nation

Reappearance run in well contested G3 at Newmarket (Zabeel Prince won with Mustashry third) when just behind Elarqam offers hope.

7 Latrobe

Won G1 Irish Derby last year and runner-up in Irish St Leger, as he was in G1 race in Australia. Been disappointing this year and this trip looks short of his best. If recaptures old form would still have a live chance.

8 Mountain Angel

Not a prolific winner – strike rate of four from 17 but steadily improving and won both races this year, both at Epsom over 2015m. Will have to improve further.

9 Mountain Hunter

Godolphin representative has done a lot of his racing in Dubai, winning two handicaps there in February before outclassed in G1 in March. Not raced since and probably not good enough.

10 Oasis Charm

Able, lightly raced five-year-old may be capable of improving enough to be a live challenger but not raced since February.

11 Riven Light

Winning hurdler and winner at Listed level on Flat. Just beaten in one at The Curragh earlier this month. Seven-year-old unlikely to find more improvement and faces a difficult task.

12 Star Of Bengal

Four-year-old has raced only four times, winning a handicap at Chelmsford in May off a rating of 101. Needs to improve but that is not impossible.

13 Willie John

Second to Elarqam in Listed race at Goodwood last month and will be hard to reverse that form.

14 Zihba

Won G3 last year over 1600m before disappointing. Reappeared with placed efforts in Listed and Group races, but was well beaten on faster ground in a 2100m G1 at The Curragh. Drops in grade but may still not be good enough.

15 Zorion
Plenty of evidence to suggest that he won’t be good enough. Gelded since latest run, at Meydan in February.

16 Magic Wand

Run well in string of G1 races in France and the USA since winning the G2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot last year. Effective at this shorter trip and a major chance.
