| 1 | Beatboxer | Started favourite for his first two starts last year and had no difficulty in winning both. Favourite again when upped to 1600m and G2 company here at Newmarket in September but he ran a dismal race – last of seven. Attempts to recapture his reputation on this return. |
| 2 | Persian Moon | A smart two-year-old, including a G3 place. Makes a quick return after his 2019 debut at Sandown last week – up to a similar trip to this and in another G3. Not quite swift enough in the closing stages but ran a good third to Bangkok, a colt thought to be top class. |
| 3 | UAE Jewel | Kept growing last year so was kept off the track but everyone seemed to know that he was expected to win on his debut – in a 1600m maiden here last month. Gradually closing, he led about 220m out and quickened clear of his 11 rivals. He could be very good. |
| 4 | Walkinthesand | Came from last in a four-runner field to win a 1400m Conditions’ event at Sandown last September. He certainly seems to have trained on into a useful three-year-old judging by his close second in a 1800m Listed event here last month. The winner there could be very smart, and the pair were clear of the third. |
