FWD Champions Day - Track work

1. The FWD QEII Cup, FWD Champions Mile & Chairman’s Sprint Prize Track Work Schedule

The track work schedule will become effective from Saturday, 20 April until Sunday, 28 April 2019.

All Weather Track
(1)   The track opens at 4:15-4:40am for Australian horses ONLY  
(2)   The track opens 4:45am for local horses
(3)   The large & small track closes for harrowing at 6:15am
(4)   The large & small track closes at 8:15am
(5)   The bridle path closes at 8:15 am and the trotting ring closes at 8:30 am
(6)   The Olympic Equine Pool and trotting ring closes at 8:30 am except 23rd and 26th April.
(7)   Barrier trials (23 & 26 April) on the All Weather Track commence 8:15am (gate close at 8:00 am). 
Only 1200M trials will be offered and the trials will be limited to 3 batches on 26 April.
(8)   Thursday stalls tests (25 April) will be held at 7:30am
(9)   1800M Jump-outs opens between 7:00am to 8:00am:
Thursday, 25 April restricted to horses entered for Sunday, 28 April racemeeting, FWD QEII Cup, FWD Champions Mile & Chairman’s Sprint Prize runners (quota not included)
(10) The tracks will be open from 8:15am to 8:30am for FWD QEII Cup, FWD Champions Mile and Chairman’s Sprint Prize runners and their amahs for exclusive All-weather and turf track trackwork except Tuesday and Friday due to All-weather trial.  Trainers are strongly encouraged to work their runners entered in the above races at this time to facilitate press and visitors viewing of your horses work.

2. Grass Gallops

(1)   Local horses competing in the FWD QEII Cup, FWD Champions Mile and Chairman’s Sprint Prize can gallop twice on the grass track accompanied by an amah from Saturday, 20 April until Saturday, 27 April. 
The grass track will be open between 6:00am-7:00am and 8:15am-8:30am, booking is required.
(2)   Australian horses can gallop twice on the grass, from Saturday, 20 April until Saturday, 27 April.  The grass track will be open between 3:40am-4:10am.
(3)   Other Overseas horses can gallop twice on the grass, from Saturday, 20 April until Saturday, 27 April, upon completion of local horses work.
