Listed – 1800m – Turf

1
Stampede
Excellent effort at first start since March when five lengths winner from Testashadow in Randwick Benchmark 100 Handicap (1600m) on 13 October. That was on heavy ground but no problem with firmer track and rise in distance.
2
Duca Valentinois
Sound effort when 0.6 lengths 3rd to Cliff’s Edge in strong G2 Crystal Mile (1600m) at Moonee Valley on 27 October. Looks to be peaking at right time for this.
3
Life Less Ordinary
Chased home strongly when 1.5 lengths 3rd to dead-heaters Best Of Days and Mask Of Time in G3 Coongy Handicap (2000m) at Caulfield on 20 October. A win and a second from only two starts this course and distance. Excellent effort when 1.9 lengths 5th to Best Of Days in G1 Kennedy Mile (1600m) at Flemington on Saturday.
4
Sovereign Nation
Race pattern and tempo against when 4.75 lengths 8th to Cliff’s Edge in strong G2 Crystal Mile (1600m) at Moonee Valley on 27 October. Better suited this track.
5
Tradesman
Not raced since June when 3.75 lengths 3rd to Megablast in the Caloundra Cup (2400m). Capable wet and dry tracks and of performing well fresh in this distance range.
6
Tom Melbourne
Has cult following because of his 11 second place finishes in good races. One of his only five wins did come at this course and distance. Satisfactory effort last start when 2.6 lengths 4th to Sircconi in G3 Moonga Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 20 October. Well beaten when 7.3 lengths 14th to Best Of Days in G1 Kennedy Mile (1600m) at Flemington on Saturday.
7
Kiwia
Eye catching performance when 1.8 lengths 4th to in-form stablemate Iconoclasm in 1500m Vobis Gold Star at Moonee Valley on 26 October. That was first run since Brisbane Cup placing in June. This suits.
8
Testashadow
Well held when 5 lengths 2nd to Stampede in Randwick Benchmark 100 Handicap (1600m) on 13 October. Handles soft ground but probably too wet last time.
9
Zahspeed
Terrific front-running win at Moonee Valley on 26 October when scored by 1.25 lengths from The Lord Mayor in 2040m Handicap.
10
Black On Gold
Sound effort fresh when 3.4 lengths 5th to Mister Sea Wolf in Rowley Mile (1600m) at Hawkesbury on 23 August. The ground against when 6.3 lengths last of 8 behind Carzoff in Wyong Cup (2100m) on 31 August. Break between runs is query but has very good record this distance.
11
Muraaqeb
Won Randwick Benchmark 88 Handicap at 1600m before tackling G1’s at past two. Latest was fair 6.8 lengths 10th to Land Of Plenty in the G1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) on 13 October.
12
Radipole
Looks suited here back in class after 6.4 lengths 9th to Land Of Plenty in the G1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) on 13 October. Unbeaten in two starts at 1800m.
13
Kaonic
Lightly raced and promising galloper whose form was sound before striking heavy track last time when 6.2 lengths 4th to Stampede in Randwick Benchmark 100 Handicap on 13 October. Go well.
14
Take It Intern
Imported galloper who has impressed at only two runs for Victoria’s number one trainer Darren Weir. Very good when 2.25 lengths winner from Eclair Calling in Caulfield Benchmark 84 Handicap (1700m) on 17 October.
15
Silvera
Ran well when 1.7 lengths 4th to Von Costa Glass in Murray Bridge Cup (1600m) on 19 October. Advantaged by rise in distance.
16
Mahamedeis
Strong finishing and excellent winner Moonee Valley 1600m Benchmark 78 Handicap on 5 October before pattern against when sound 2.5 lengths 4th to dead-heaters Mask Of Time and Best Of Days in G3 Coongy Handicap (2000m) at Caulfield on 20 October.
