The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting five races from the Melbourne Cup Day Meeting at Flemington racecourse in Melbourne on Tuesday, 6 November (1st race starts 10:50am, Hong Kong time).

The A$7,050,000 Melbourne Cup is not only the richest handicap in the world but also one of the most anticipated events of the Australian racing and social calendar. At 3pm on the first Tuesday in November, Australia comes to a standstill as people tune in to catch the race that literally stops a nation. In a little more than 3 minutes, Cup dreams are made for some but shattered for others.

Subject to changes, the five races to be simulcast are:

Jim Beam Black Stakes (Desirable Stakes) – Listed 1400m for 3yo fillies
Melbourne Cup – G1 3200m 3yo+ handicap
Furphy Plate (Melbourne Cup Day Plate) – Listed 1800m
MSS Security Sprint (Always Welcome Stakes) – Listed 1200m
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes (Maybe Mahal Stakes) – G3 1400m for 4yo+ mares

Final declarations with barrier draws for the Melbourne Cup Day races will be available on the morning of Monday, 5 November.
