The Hong Kong Jockey Club purchased three colts at the recent Arqana October Yearling Sale for a total of €312,000 (approximately HK$2.839 million).
Siyouni has achieved plenty in the short time he has been at stud, notably this season through his classic-winning daughter Laurens, and the Club went to €150,000 to secure Lot 15 by the G1-winning son of Pivotal. The eye-catching youngster is a half-brother to the Listed winner La Peinture – fourth in the G1 Prix Saint-Alary – being from the family of European champion Peintre Celebre.
Lot 149, a smart-looking Zoffany sibling to a pair of two-time winners, was knocked down for €90,000. The bay’s third dam is the G1 1,000 Guineas heroine Sleepytime, with other notable relatives being the G1 winners Ali-Royal and Taipan.
The Club secured Lot 439 for €72,000. The athletic colt is by the high-class miler Anodin and hails from a family that has produced plenty of black type earners, including G1 winners Roi Normand and Coquerelle.
