G2 – 3190m – Turf

Desert Skyline Has finished soundly beaten behind rival here Stradivarius four times this season, not very promising for this latest clash. No stamina worries and he generally does his best work when others are tiring towards the end.
Mount Moriah Ratings suggest he has plenty to find and he was 23L behind Stradivarius in a G1 at Ascot on his last start. However the ground was fast then and slow ground is a necessity, conditions that saw him rally bravely to win a 2800m Listed event at Nottingham in April.
Stradivarius A small colt who has developed into a champion stayer. Has won all four starts this season – two at G1 and two at G2 – over shorter and further than this. His running style is to pounce from off the pace. He can handle slow ground, but probably best on good.
Thomas Hobson Back in top form for his latest start when accelerating stylishly from off the pace to win a G2 over further than this at Doncaster. He has past Ascot winning form and is versatile groundwise.
Cypress Creek Has always looked as though he’d do best when tackling this sort of trip and it was a career-best performance late last month when he won a strongly-run G3 at Naas. That was on good ground which appears to be his preferred conditions.
Flag Of Honour Genuine and uncomplicated according to his riders, he has improved significantly since being raised in distance. On his last three starts he has won a G2, G3 and G1 over 2800m at The Curragh, latterly with a powerful front-running display. Another rise in distance and slow ground not expected to be a problem.
Sir Erec Lightly raced he has improved significantly as he has stepped up in distance, and, despite racing too keenly and meeting interference, he was a very easy Listed race winner over 2500m at Limerick recently. Up in trip and class again here, but he is clearly very smart.
