| Admire Justa | Just A Way colt on third start of career. Responses slow out of gate so being given 400 metres longer for first time. Good racing sense. Travels smoothly. Getting high marks in work. Likely race favuorite. |
| Bullbear Oro | Sprint champion Kinshasa No Kiseki colt used to 1200m to 1400m being raced at this distance for first time. Slow out of gate and keen at shorter distances. 2000 metres may help but likely outclassed. |
| Daddy’s Mind | Finished 9th in Grade 3 last out after breaking maiden. Honest runner with good racing sense but not ready for the upper levels. Decent speed. Can run from any position. First time at Kyoto. |
| Josho Mood | Rose Kingdom colt broke maiden on 2nd start last out at 1800m. A bit slow out of gate, but calmer than before. Picked up nicely in final stages. Decent speed. New track may raise tension again. |
| Miyake | Japanese Derby champion Deep Brillante colt with good potential. Broke maiden last out on 4th start over this distance. Difficult to settle. Decent overall speed and good stamina. Good on yielding ground. |
| Roger Barows | Feisty Deep Impact colt on 2nd start after winning debut at Niigata on 18 August at this distance. Raced in good position. Good racing sense and stamina. Distance suits. |
| Yamanin Magia | Deep Impact colt broke maiden in record time last out at 1800m on 2nd start. Concentration wavered when reached top but pushed on for win. Yutaka Take in saddle again a plus. Good on fast track. |
