| Maruka Brisk | King Kamehameha 5-year-old horse has at best a 4th in 5 starts since moving to this level. Likely outclassed. |
| Mayuki | Mile champion Taiki Shuttle 7-year-old mare racing for first time in 4 months. Given mostly sprints until this year and first time at 2200m. Has best a third from April 2017 in last 11 starts. Not promising. |
| Meisho Kamishima | Four-year-old colt coming off win over 2400m at Hanshin on 17 September at level lower. Had raced at this level from last fall until this spring without success and dropped down. Speed average. Likely outclassed. |
| Melvin Kazuma | Victoire Pisa 4-year-old colt on 3rd start after moving up to this level. Is coming off a 3rd over 1800m last out on 8 September at Hanshin following a 2nd over 2000m at Niigata. Primarily runs in 1800-2000m range. Finished 8th in a 2200m Grade 2 event in May 2017. Can run from any position and over any going. Excellent speed. |
| Palingenesis | Four-year-old colt finished 2nd over 2200m on 1 July at Chukyo following a win over 2400m in May at Tokyo, both races at this level. Tends to run on or close to pace. Very good speed. Has won to right as well but best a 5th at Kyoto. |
| Precious Leaf | Orfevre 3-year-old colt raced on dirt has made top three spots in three starts since breaking maiden this February. Moving up to this class for first time and back to turf for first time since debut and second start. Has raced to right but best results racing to left. Tends to run midfield. Good speed. |
| Sea Splash | Three-year-old colt by Tenno Sho (Autumn) champion Eishin Flash returning to turf after very poor showing in first dirt race of career last out, 2nd start at this level. Previous race over 2000m on turf, finished 7th on 16 September. Runs close to pace. Will carry only 115lb, 4lb lighter than last turf race. Could surprise but not promising. |
| Solace | Orfevre 3-year-old filly ran 13th in Grade 3 Shion Stakes last out following a 2.5-month layoff. 2nd over 2000m before that in June at Hanshin at this level. Is 3-5 at Kyoto. Good speed. Tends to run midfield or further back. Will carry only 115lb, 11lb less than top weight. |
