1200m – Turf

Believer
Three-year-old filly dropped from the graded-stakes level to finish 3rd and 2nd in last two starts, both at this level over 1200m. Unable to catch frontrunner last out but ran well and advantageous assigned weight of 112 lb could help her make the money.

Joyful
Four-year-old colt dropped down to level below last out after three unsuccessful runs at this level. Won strongly under Mirco Demuro with smooth run up outside and returns to this level. Ran 5th under these conditions last December. Worth a wager.

Kappatsuhatchi
Three-year-old filly moving up to this level following back-to-back wins in April. Can race from any position, but excitable and spooky earlier this year. Has looked good in work and could promise if matured.

Lavender Valley
Five-year-old mare ran 6th in the classic Oka Sho as 3-year-old but posted only two wins afterward. Has one 2nd and one 3rd from five starts at this level this year, including a second in July at Chukyo over 1200m. Had recovered condition and showed promise last out on 2 September, despite wide draw and poor trip. May be good for a surprise.

Luffing Match
Front-running Taiki Shuttle 3-year-old colt moved up to this class last out on 16 September in second start after 3-month layoff to finish 4th. Put up good fight until coming up empty at top of stretch hill. Worth a wager with right conditions.

Ofukuhime
Five-year-old mare raced primarily over 1200m. Has three 3rds in past 19 starts at this level, including close 3rd two races ago. Races from behind. Not promising.

Rush Out
Only gelding in field won at these conditions in April, followed by three starts, two of them ending in double-digit finishes. Returned 16 September after 2 months off to finish 3.3 lengths off winner. Likely improved.

Seiun Ririshii
Three-year-old Daiwa Major filly is moving up to this level after consistent performances at lower level, including a wire-to-wire win by 4 lengths last out on 25 August. Has experience at Nakayama, including one 2nd. Worth a wager.

Shonan Massive
Four-year-old Daiwa Major colt has turned in mostly double-digit finishes at this level, including last out on 25 August at Sapporo. Not promising.

Smart Shaheen
Four-year-old Taiki Shuttle colt aced debut, but didn’t win again until 7 starts later. Took on first start at this level last out, but missed break and veered inward, costing him the race. Not to be dismissed.

Tagano Gajumaru
Five-year-old raced at shorter distances with relative success early in career, then moved to 1800m and 2000m from the summer of 2017 with majority of finishes out of money. Return to shorter distance unlikely to help with off-pace racing style.

Whiz At Race
Six-year-old mare has yet to finish better than 6th in last 9 starts at this level. Lacks promise.

Wonderful Rush
Five-year-old mare with 6 finishes in money in 27 starts and 1 win and 1 second in 7 starts this year, all over 1200m. Usually runs from off pace, but was sent forward at Nakayama last out to finish 5th. Could make money with better trip.
