Spectacular on-course activities for National Day Race Meeting at Sha Tin Racecourse

The Hong Kong Jockey Club welcomes racing fans to celebrate the National Day at Sha Tin Racecourse during the National Day Race Meeting on Monday, 1 October.

The opening ceremony will begin in the Parade Ring at 12:05pm with delightful cultural and artistic performances. Famous soprano Cai Nan from China National Opera House will join the ceremony to lead the national anthem, accompanied by the Hong Kong Police Band, while Shenzhen Fuyong Acrobatic Troupe will catch audience’s eyes with their impressive performance combining dance and balancing skills inspired by Chinese traditional paper-cutting .

A range of National Day-themed merchandise, featuring a souvenir envelope issued jointly by the Club and Hongkong Post, will be on sale at Sha Tin’s designated sale counter and Gift at Races souvenir shops on 1 October. 

To mark the National Day, a variety of speciality dishes will be available throughout the racecourse.

The National Day Race Meeting is a 10-race programme with the first starting at 1pm.   The day’s highlights are the season’s first two Group races – the G3 National Day Cup (1000m) and the G3 Celebration Cup (1400m). 

Sha Tin Racecourse will open at 11am on 1 October. Tourists to Hong Kong will be offered free admission by showing a valid travel document upon entry to the Public Enclosure (excluding fee-charging venues) at Sha Tin Racecourse.
