Additional Veterinary Reports from 20 May 2018 Race Meeting

Race 1

ART OF RAW

ART OF RAW, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time the horse was lame in its right front leg.  ART OF RAW was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer K W Lui this morning.  He said at this time he noted the horse to also have a stiff and restricted action.  As previously advised, ART OF RAW will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.

KING BOUNTIFUL

KING BOUNTIFUL, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time the horse was found to be a “roarer” which had previously been reported.  KING BOUNTIFUL was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size this morning.  He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg and also have a stiff and restricted action.  Before being allowed to race again, KING BOUNTIFUL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Race 6

VITAL SPRING

VITAL SPRING, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea.  VITAL SPRING was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer K W Lui this morning.  He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg.  As previously advised, VITAL SPRING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.

NICE KICK

NICE KICK, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings.  NICE KICK was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size this morning.  He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg.  Before being allowed to race again, NICE KICK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

The Veterinary Officer reported that examinations conducted this morning of all other horses inspected during yesterday’s racemeeting were shown to have no significant findings.
