PAKISTAN STAR (V325)

The Stewards have this morning interviewed Jockey T Berry who rode PAKISTAN STAR when that horse participated in a barrier trial conducted at Sha Tin.  PAKISTAN STAR was required to satisfactorily pass a barrier trial over 1600 Metres on the turf prior to being permitted to race again due to being reluctant to race at times during its most recent race start.

T Berry stated that PAKISTAN STAR travelled strongly for the majority of today’s trial and that at no stage during the early and middle stages of the trial did PAKISTAN STAR show any propensity to be reluctant to race.  He said whilst PAKISTAN STAR got its head on the side and shifted in momentarily prior to the 300 Metres and in doing so losing momentum, the horse appeared to shy away from something at this time, however, regained its momentum and then finished off the trial well.

Having considered Jockey Berry’s advice and after viewing the video of the barrier trial, the Stewards have ruled that PAKISTAN STAR has successfully passed its stipulated barrier trial restriction and accordingly is cleared to race.
