Dubai Thursday races and Blue Diamond Stakes Day to be beamed live for betting

Dubai Thursday, 22 February
The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting six races from Meydan Racecourse in Dubai on the evening of Thursday, 22 February (1st race 10:30pm Hong Kong time).

The seventh meeting of the 2018 Dubai World Cup Carnival gets underway with a strong card featuring black type events on the turf and competitive handicaps for dirt specialists. The Chris So-trained Classic Emperor, who has shown marked improvement since switching to racing on the all-weather track at Sha Tin this season, is set to make his Dubai debut in the 95-105 Handicap, with the World Cup night races on 31 March his ultimate goal.

The six races on the card are:
Benchmark 89 Handicap (1400m Dirt)
Dubai Millennium Stakes (G3 2000m Turf)
Zabeel Mile (G2 1600m Turf)
95-105 Handicap (1600m Dirt)
95+ Handicap (1400m Dirt)
Meydan Sprint (G2 1000m Turf)

Final declarations with barrier draws for the Thursday night Dubai races will be available on the morning of Wednesday, 21 February.

Blue Diamond Stakes Day, 24 February
The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting six races from Caulfield Racecourse in Australia on Saturday, 24 February (1st race 11:15am Hong Kong time).

A field of exciting two-year-olds will contest the feature event, the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes over 1200 metres. Carrying a total of A$1.5 million in prize money, the set-weights Blue Diamond Stakes is Victoria’s richest and most prestigious race for two-year-olds.

The card also features the G1 Futurity Stakes (1400m), one of the Melbourne Racing Club’s prime races for sprinters and milers.

The six races to be simulcast are:
Angus Armanasco Stakes (G2 1400m for 3yo fillies)
Futurity Stakes (G1 1400m for 3yo+)
Peter Young Stakes (G2 1800m)
Blue Diamond Stakes (G1 1200m for 2yo)
Oakleigh Plate (G1 1100m handicap)
Mannerism Stakes (G3 1400m for 4yo+ fillies and mares)

Final declarations with barriers for the Blue Diamond Stakes Day races will be available on the morning of Friday, 23 February.
