The following is a summary of decisions that were made by the Licensing Committee at their meeting held this morning:-
1. The Committee resolved to grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination, a licence to ride in races in Hong Kong to Apprentice Jockey Victor C Wong for the period from 25 March 2018 until the conclusion of the current 2017/2018 racing season inclusive, provided that Apprentice Wong is not permitted to ride in any race at Happy Valley Racecourse until permission is granted by Management.
A release in relation to which Trainer Apprentice Wong will be allocated to will be issued at the appropriate time.

Victor Wong Chun
Victor Wong commenced overseas training in June 2014, initially under the guidance of leading Tasmanian Trainer Leon Wells. After gaining approval to commence riding in races in January 2015 Apprentice Wong was able to achieve a commendable 45 race wins from 485 race rides at a winning rate of 9.3% during his near 2 years of race riding in Tasmania. In January 2017, Apprentice Wong was transferred into the care of leading South Australian Trainer and former top jockey, Richard Jolly and over the ensuing 13 months, has ridden a further 74 winners, taking his career tally to 119 wins from 1045 race rides at an overall winning rate of 11%. For the current 2017/2018 racing season, Apprentice Wong sits in 4th position on the South Australian Jockeys’ Championship with 41 wins at a winning rate of 12.85%. His minimum riding weight is 105 lbs.
2. The Committee resolved to extend the Acting Assistant Trainer’s licence previously issued to Albert FAN Hin Sui for the period 8 February 2018 until the conclusion of the current 2017/2018 racing season, allocated to Trainer Derek Cruz’s stable.
