1200m – Turf

Black Bird Two wins at 1200m and 1600m from 25 career starts. Took his second win in Hikoboshi Sho (1200m, Fukushima) this summer. Good efforts for 4th in recent two starts. Can lead or sit close to speed. No ground issue.
Blois All three wins at 1200m from 23 career starts. Two wins on turf, one on dirt. Handles all going. Latest win at Niigata in October two back. Well beaten in Kahoku Shimpo Hai (1200m, Fukushima) in November latest. Leads or sits handy.
Colorature Both career wins at 1200m from 10 career starts. Only time out of first four when stretched to 1400m. Won minor contest at Sapporo in September two back before 3rd in Katsuura Tokubetsu at the course and distance early October. Races better than midfield or close to speed. Favours firm track.
Daimei Fuji Two wins from 10 career starts from 1200m to 1600m but out of the first three only twice. Last start winner in 1400m stakes race at Chukyo earlier this month. Settles back or better than midfield. Untried on softer than good.
Daiwa Proper Three wins at 1200m and 1400m from 22 career starts. Below her best this season but came good last time to win a minor 1200m contest at Fukushima. No ground concerns and races close to speed.
Demoiselle Both career wins at the distance from 14 starts. Second in the Christmas Rose Stakes last year. Solid 5th in the 1200m G3 at Hakodate Nisai Stakes in July 2016. Well-beaten 7th behind G1 Oka Sho winner Reine Minoru in same grade at Kokura in September 2016. Out of form last three starts. Settles back or midfield. Tested only on firm.
Eifer Pretty Three wins at 1200m and 1400m from 17 career starts. Fine form in three runs since near five-month spell. Won minor 1200m race at Kokura in July and third two starts since including latest at course and distance in September. No ground worries. Usually settles midfield.
Fujino Panther Transferred from NRA to JRA circuit last autumn. Two wins at the distance and three seconds from 14 starts since. Four-time NRA winner on dirt from 1000m to 1600m. Out of frame in six starts since latest win in May. Usually held-up but can lead. Goes on firm and good and struggled on soft track three back.
Innovative Two wins at 1600m and 1400m from 10 career starts. Never tested at 1200m, but ran well for 3rd in a soft ground 1400m at Kyoto in October latest. Hold-up runner. No going concerns.
Never Regret Three wins from 13 career starts include two at the course and distance. Latest came in September, two starts back. Disappointing 14th in the Daigo Tokubetsu over 1200m at Kyoto last time. Tried on only firm and good. Usually sits deeper but can lead.
Sappheiros Two wins, both over 1200m, from 13 career starts. Highlight 2nd in the G2 Keio Hai Nisai Stakes (1400m) in 2014. Yet to win in three starts this year, finishing 6th in Boso Tokubetsu (1200m) in March, 7th in Sakurambo Tokubetsu (1200m) in July before 10th in Kahoku Shimpo Hai (1200m) in November latest. Hold-up runner. No ground concerns.
Shonan Aera Two wins, two seconds and two thirds, all at 1200m, from 11 career starts. Consistent colt who won the Aizu Tokubetsu (1200m, Fukushima) latest. Settles midfield or sometimes close to the speed. No ground concerns.
Shonan Massive Two wins, over 1200m, from 11 career starts. Won Moegi Sho (1200m, Kokura) in March and 3rd when moved up in class in the Listed Aoi Stakes (1200m, Kyoto) in May. Unraced since 11th in HTB Hai (1200m, Hakodate) in June. Usually races close to the speed. No going concerns.
Speciale Two wins at 1200m and 1400m, from 27 career starts between 1000m to 1600m. Hasn’t tasted success since last October, but close 3rd in Bakushin Tokubetsu (1000m, Niigata) in August and 4th in Daigo Tokubetsu (1200m, Kyoto) in November latest. Sits handy. No track worries.
Taiki Paradox Three wins from 21 career starts between 1000m to 1600m. After his win in Soma Tokubetsu (1200m, Fukushima) November 2016, the five-year-old has not hit the board this term. Settles back but can lead. Relishes a firm track.
World For Love Two wins from 6 career starts. The daughter of Deep Impact won her maiden (1600m, Kyoto) early this term but was below par in four subsequent starts. Displayed acceleration to take her second win in a ¥5M or below contest (1200m, Chukyo) early this month. Can lead or settle better than midfield. Relishes a firm track.
