Listed – 1800m – Turf

1 Tally Freshened and back in distance after 4.8 lengths 6th to Amelie’s Star in G3 Bart Cummings (2500m) at Flemington on 7 October. Ran well at 1700m in Listed class three starts back. Generally races handy and very best form on good rated tracks.
2 He Or She Made some late ground in higher grade when 5 lengths 13th of 18 to Tosen Stardom in G1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield on 14 October. Fitter and races well this track. Best on firm ground; can be ridden forward or back.
3 Kidmenever Charlie Appleby trained visitor who ran 14 lengths 8th to Lord Fandango in G2 Herbert Power (2400m) on 14 October. Placed three previous runs at around 2000m and improvement is possible. Best form on good to slightly rain affected ground. Tactics unclear from wide draw.
4 Maurus Blocked for clear run and unlucky not to have won when 1 length 3rd to Kiwia in G3 Coongy Handicap (2000m) at Caulfield on 21 October. Capable all conditions but does excel on soft ground. Usually settles midfield.
5 Turnitaround Below best when 10.7 lengths last of 6 behind Kiwia in G3 Coongy Handicap (2000m) at Caulfield on 21 October. That followed creditable 3.3 lengths 8th to Tosen Stardom in G1 Toorak Handicap. Good record this track. Generally races handy and capable all conditions.
6 Articus One win in Australia was this course and distance in May but struggling to find form. Disappointed when 14 lengths 10th to Count Da Vinci over 2050m at Moe on 19 October. Generally races handy to speed and comfortable all conditions.
7 Balf’s Choice Impressed with head win from Radipole and Moss ’N’ Dale (since won) in Listed Seymour Cup (1600m) on 22 October. Generally races on speed and capable all conditions but note excellent soft track record of five wins from seven starts.
8 De Little Engine Not raced since May when won Listed race at 3200m at this track. Placed fresh at this distance at Caulfield in February albeit from a shorter break between runs. Expected to settle back in field. Best form on good ground.
9 Tashbeeh Fair effort when 3 lengths 8th to Ulmann in G3 Moonga Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 21 October. Advantaged by rise in distance and usually settles midfield or back. Best form on dry tracks.
10 Life Less Ordinary Freshened since pulled lame after 5 lengths 9th to Foundry in G1 The Metropolitan (2400m) at Randwick on 30 September. Placed in barrier trial on 24 October. Can race handy but drawn wide. Best form on good tracks.
11 Lubiton Talented advantaged by track bias but still strong when led throughout in 1.25 lengths win from Savapinski in G3 Tesio Stakes (1600m – mares only) at Moonee Valley on 28 October. Front-runner who likes good ground. Previous failures beyond 1600m were on soft ground.
12 Pure Pride Struck interference and ran well when 5.5 lengths 5th to Balf’s Choice in Listed Seymour Cup (1600m) on 22 October. Can unleash a powerful finish on her day. Best form on dry. Failed one previous run at distance but had tough run and that was early in career.
13 Nozomi Blocked for room coming to turn and run was OK when 5.2 lengths 5th to Folkswood in Listed Cranbourne Cup (2025m) on 15 October. Has good record at this track and won two of three at this distance. Gets back in races and prefers good ground.
14 Radipole Strong effort despite racing wide when head 2nd to Balf’s Choice in Listed Seymour Cup (1600m) on 22 October. Sound effort when 3.25 lengths 5th to Shillelagh in G1 Kennedy Mile (1600m) on Saturday. Won both starts at this distance and capable wet or dry. Generally ridden back but might settle handier from this draw.
15 Brown Ben Strong win in Listed race at this distance at Morphettville before 2.6 lengths 3rd to Excites Zelady in Listed Murray Bridge Cup (1600m) on 20 October. Back to 1800m helps and likely to race handy from inside draw. Competent on good and soft ground.
16 Second Bullet Freshened since disappointing 8.2 lengths 12th to Harlem in G3 Naturalism Stakes (2000m) at Caulfield on 23 September. Races well at this track and generally comes with late surge. Best form on good ground.
17 Jim’s Journey Underrated galloper who was placed in the 2800m race on this day two years ago. Ran unlucky head 2nd to Brown Ben in 1800m Listed race before no luck when 2.9 lengths 7th to Temps Voleur in Morphettville Parks 1950m Benchmark 90 Handicap on 21 October. Bigger tracks suits. Races handy, Prefers good ground.
18 Big Blue Worked home fairly well when 5.6 lengths 6th to Balf’s Choice in Listed Seymour Cup (1600m) on 22 October. That was first run since May and strips fitter. Capable all conditions. Expect to settle back from wide gate.

19 Odeon Impressed with 1.5 lengths win from Dodging Bullets (since won) in Caulfield Benchmark 84 Handicap (1700m) on 18 October. Races handy and looks well suited here wet or dry.
20 Von Tunzelman New Zealander having first run in Australia. Sound effort when 0.5 lengths winner from Waipipi Lad in Te Rapa Handicap (1600m) on 23 October. Capable wet or dry and usually ridden off the speed. Trainer has good record in Australia.
21 Mr Garcia UK galloper having first run in Australia. Not raced since August when 4.8 lengths 7th to Fabricate in Goodwood 1979m Handicap. Last win was Haydock 1634m on soft ground. All wins have come on soft ground. Can race handy or midfield.
22 Captain Duffy Comes off two sound on-pace wins at 1800m and 2043m. Latest was nose win from Silent Warrior in Morphettville 2043m Benchmark 70 Handicap on 28 October. Goes forward normally but is drawn wide. Proven good to soft ground.
