At the Kranji (Singapore) race meeting on 6 August 2017, Apprentice Jockey Matthew M F Poon rode FAALTLESS to win the Garden City Trophy (Group 3). Rule of Racing 58(1) provides that a Group or Listed win recorded in a racing jurisdiction outside Hong Kong shall be taken into account for the purpose of calculating an Apprentice Jockey’s weight allowance. Accordingly, the aforementioned win will take Apprentice Poon’s total number of recognized wins to 23.

Apprentice Poon will therefore continue to be eligible to claim a 7 lbs weight allowance until he records his 45th win in Hong Kong.
