G2 – 1600m – Dirt

Caramel Chip Very consistent with a high win/place strike-rate, perhaps his most significant success coming over 1200m at Gulfstream Park in January. Meets specialist 1600m horses here, so challenging.
Desert Wisdom It would be a big shock if he succeeded. Although extremely familiar with this course and distance, it is over two years since he won and struggling to make a serious impact recently.
Eastern World Has winning form at this distance earlier in his career but competing over sprint trips more recently, including a 1200m victory at Sharjah last November. This is a much harder task.
Isolate A leading candidate for Godolphin Mile glory, although he ran out of gas in the closing stages in a G1 over 1800m at King Abdulaziz last month. He bossed his rivals for an easy win in this last year and may try the same despite a much wider gate this time.
Qareeb A seven times winner, two of those coming during a busy 2024 season – handicaps at Jebel Ali and Meydan. He’s tough and likely to be closing late on despite having a lot to find on ratings.
Remorse Has finished sixth and ninth in the last two runs of the 2000m Dubai World Cup on this day. Struggled on his only start this year, and hard to recommend.
Saudi Crown Has won four of his eight starts but his best run was his close third in last month’s G1 Saudi Cup, only headed close to the wire. Formidable here if he can repeat that classy performance.
Scotland Yard Has won four times since moving from the US to Saudi Arabia and is very effective at this trip but probably not up to winning at this level, well beaten in the G1 Saudi Cup last time.
Southern Artist Faded fast in a Meydan G3 on his latest start – perhaps there were excuses as he had previously led for most of the trip and then battled hard when a close second in another G3 here.
Swing Vote Has improved since dropping to this trip, with three straight wins at Jebel Ali, closing fast each time. Less good was his fifth in a G3 here this month, proving a disappointing favourite.
Two Rivers Over Plenty of success in the US at this distance. Proved he could handle a rise in class when a close fourth in a G2 at Santa Anita on his latest start. A bit more progress could see him impact here.
Walk Of Stars Solid performances in both starts at Meydan this year. His enthusiasm has been questioned though he was a close second in a G2 here this month. Drops in trip.
Pacholli A challenger from Uruguay who is a prolific winner, gaining his tenth victory in a 2000m G1 at Maronas in January. Adds international interest on this debut outside Uruguay.
