G1 – 2400m – Turf

Ace Impact

Unbeaten in five starts and the way he asserted in the closing stages of the G1 French Derby at Chantilly in June was eye-catching. First run at Longchamp and unproven at this trip but plenty of positives.

Bay Bridge

A power-packed performance resulted in a G1 win at Ascot last October, helped by slow ground. Looked back to near his best with a fluent victory at Kempton in September. Having his first G1 at this trip.

Continuous

Rapidly improving, and with stamina to spare as he showed when winning the G1 St Leger at Doncaster over further in September. Will need to remain at his best just 15 days later. Versatile ground-wise. A major player.

Fantastic Moon

This increasingly effective German-trained colt has been supplemented having showed his quality again following his German Derby victory when powerful in the Longchamp straight to win a G2 Arc trial here this month.

Feed The Flame

Knows Longchamp well including three wins (including a G1 at this trip) and a staying-on second in G2 trial for this in September. Soft ground would benefit this high-class colt most.

Free Wind

Mixed fortunes during a light 2023 campaign but back at her best when a close second in a G1 at York. Handles slow ground but best chance of a surprise Arc win would come on a quick surface.

Haya Zark

His two Group race wins (including a course and distance G3 in May) have come on very slow ground. Back from a break when a fair third at Deauville. Prominently ridden. Hard to recommend.

Hukum

A strong and super tough stayer who has taken his form to new levels this season, notably with his G1 Ascot victory in July after a memorable stretch battle with Westover. Versatile ground-wise. Live possibilities.

Mr Hollywood

A fine second in the German Derby at Hamburg in July and did even better after a 63-day break when a close and possibly unlucky second in a Baden-Baden G1. Strong international opposition makes this look hard.

Onesto

Swooped to win a G1 over this course and distance in 2022. But would need to improve quite significantly on the level of his last four runs if he is going to make a major impact.

Place du Carrousel

Needs to improve further but is still unexposed and proved her effectiveness at this trip when winning a G2 Arc trial here in September. Won a 2000m G1 at this meeting last year at 41-1 odds.

Simca Mille

A narrow but authoritative G1 victory at Hoppegarten followed two G2 victories (including here) earlier during a very rewarding season.  Highly consistent but needs to raise his game still further.

Sisfahan

Came from the back to win the G1 German Derby over this trip in 2021, also quite close to landing another German G1 – at Hoppegarten in August – prior to a modest run last time. May struggle.

Through Seven Seas

Getting better with age like her sire and was the winner of a G3 at Nakayama in March. Proved she was worth a shot at this when only beaten a neck by the brilliant Equinox in a G1 at Hanshin in June.

Westover

Very slow ground didn’t help in last year’s Arc but is having a terrific 2023 with probable career bests on his last two starts, winning a Saint-Cloud G1 and then a close G1 second at Ascot in July, a red-hot event. Chances.
