FWD QEII Cup

DANON THE KID – JPN
Walked for 60 minutes in the trotting ring.

The trainer’s son and assistant Keiichiro Yasuda said: “Danon The Kid and Aguri worked steadily yesterday, so they did hand-walks to stretch. They walked nicely and smoothly. I have no worries about their condition”

GERALDINA – JPN
Had some light work, ridden by the work rider Masaru Danno, for 50 minutes in the trotting ring and went to the starting gates for practice.

Danno said: “I am happy to have her fresh this morning. I hope she will stay in good condition until Sunday.”

MONEY CATCHER – HK
Cantered one lap on the inner all-weather track.

Trainer Frankie Lor said: “There doesn’t look to be any horses who should lead, so he should do it by himself. Silvestre de Sousa has worked him this week and he said the horse is still keeping his form.”

PROGNOSIS – JPN
Had some light work in the trotting ring and an easy canter on the main all-weather track under work rider Yasunari Kiyoyama, clocking 32.5s before barrier gate schooling.

Kiyoyama said: “We had some practice at the gate with a stall handler at home, and I was very pleased that he handled the gate here and was able to stand beside a stall handler this morning. I think this will be an advantage for him.”

“Actually he is not physically and mentally strong enough, so the best thing for us is that we have brought him here without any issue and everything has gone as planned. I understand he is a very talented horse and definitely has a class to win the group one, so I am very looking forward to his performance on Sunday.”

“Since Zac rode him the other day, he was tuned up and a fitting horse going into the race. He will stretch out his legs on the main all-weather track tomorrow.”

TOURBILLON DIAMOND – HK
Cantered one lap on the inner all-weather track.

Jockey Alexis Badel said: “He looks ok. His recent two performances were a little bit below his capability. The horse feels good in the morning, he feels fresh enough and he feels sound. I’m happy to see how he will run this Sunday.”

FWD Champions Mile

AEGON – NZ
Cantered two laps of the all-weather track and worked keenly for track rider Hanna Orting.

Orting said: “Very, very good work and I’m pleased with him. He is good. He was a bit fresher which is good.”

HEALTHY HAPPY – HK
Cantered one lap on the inner all-weather track.

Trainer Frankie Lor said: “The other horses are too strong but I will try my best to see if I can get any prize money for the owners.”

MY OBERON – AUS
Did two slow laps of the all-weather track with track rider Shari Jamie.

Jamie said: “He is going really, really well. I am very pleased with him.”

VOYAGE BUBBLE – HK
Cantered one lap on the inner all-weather track.

Jockey Alexis Badel said: “It was excellent (his grass gallop on Thursday, 27 April). The horse feels good, he’s fresh and he seems to be fit, his condition looks quite well, so I am pleased.”

Chairman’s Sprint Prize

AGURI – JPN
Walked for 60 minutes in the trotting ring.

The trainer’s son and the assistant Keiichiro Yasuda said: “Danon The Kid and Aguri worked steadily yesterday, so they did hand walks to stretch. They walked nicely and smoothly. I have no worries about their condition”

MASTER EIGHT – HK
Cantered one lap on the inner all-weather track.

Trainer Frankie Lor said: “If he received an inside draw it would be better but anyway, draw seven, I’ll leave it to Joao Moreira.”

WELLINGTON – HK
Have an easy canter on the trotting ring before galloping on the all-weather track, clocking 26.6s over 400m.

Jockey Alexis Badel said: “I galloped him on the grass this week and he feels good. He has maintained his form from last run, so that’s very positive. He’s drawn well and he feels good in the morning, so no problem.”
