3991m – Turf

1 Whiskey Sour Top-weight. Versatile and useful both on the Flat, where won over 3400m, and over hurdles, where won G1 event. A live Willie Mullins candidate. Will probably stay the trip.
2 Daybreak Boy Lightly raced five-year-old in fair form over hurdles and respectable effort when fourth in Listed race over 2500m on Flat last year. A tough task.
3 Hassle Nine-year-old who returned from 574 days off to win over hurdles recently. Has not run on Flat since 2016 when last in this race. Needs a training miracle.
4 Cayirli Second in 2016 Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot over 4300m but disappointing since. Surprise 50-1 winner on all-weather in April but flopped since. Unappealing.
5 Dubawi Fifty Steadily improved for small stable winning five from 13 at up to 3300m. Fourth in recent Chester Cup. A fair chance.
6 Garo de Juilley First run for Sophie Leech after £8000 purchase last month. Fair on Flat in France where won four in 2015 but moderate over hurdles in Britain since. A remote chance.
7 Chelkar Recently joined Willie Mullins after winning three from five at up to 2000m in France in 2016. Not run since and needs a training miracle.
8 Dannyday Returned from a long absence to finish an encouraging fourth over 2800m last month but is not bred for marathons and has never run beyond 3251m.
9 Percy Street Modest hurdler. Run only once on Flat since 2016 and doesn’t look good enough.
10 Mirsaale A multiple winner on the Flat and over hurdles. Stays well and at eight years old has shown that ability remains but an unlikely winner.
11 Look My Way A four-year-old who may improve further. Recently just held on to beat Coeur De Lion at Chester over around 3700m and unlikely to be much between them.
12 Lagostovegas Talented on the Flat, where has won at 3400m, and over hurdles for Willie Mullins. Should stay the trip but would probably prefer softer ground.
13 Cleonte Intriguing contender who won a Listed race over 3000m in 2016 when trained in France. Disappointing last year after moved to England but revival this year. Fourth behind Sam Missile at Ascot recently.
14 Kloud Gate Interesting runner. Poor over hurdles since arrived from France but previously placed several times in Listed races on Flat over 3100m. Probably prefer softer ground.
15 Stratum A good hurdler but hasn’t run beyond 2400m on Flat and 3300m over hurdles. Respected as a Willie Mullins runner but not certain to stay.
16 Battalion Not won since 2016 nor at beyond 2400m. Eight-year-old has gone downhill. Hard to fancy.
17 Meri Devie Trainer Willie Mullins has won this race three times, including last year. Is not bred to stay and hasn’t run beyond 2100m on Flat but good hurdler who stays well in that discipline. Never run on fast ground.
18 Sam Missile Not bred to stay but does. Won recently over around 3200m at Ascot on fast ground when ridden by inexperienced apprentice. Raised 7lb but still of interest.
19 White Desert Lightly raced four-year-old running off 10lb higher than when easily winning on all-weather track over around 2800m last month. Certain to improve, will probably stay and a good chance for Godolphin.
20 Coeur de Lion A proven stayer who has twice finished runner-up this season at up to around 3700m. In good form and likely to be involved.
