The Hong Kong Jockey Club held a Racing Trainee Recruitment Campaign press briefing today (Monday, 11 June) at the Sha Tin Racecourse.

Ms. Amy Chan, the Club’s Racing Development Board Executive Manager and Headmistress of the Apprentice Jockeys’ School, introduced the details of the latest round of recruitment for Racing Trainees. She also encouraged young people to seize the opportunity to develop a career in racing.

Group 1-winning jockey Derek Leung shared how he has always worked hard in striving to achieve the best in his riding career. Apprentice Jockey Victor Wong talked about his transition from being a cyclist to becoming a jockey, and Jeffery Wong detailed what life is like for a racing trainee at the Club’s Apprentice Jockeys’ School and how the education he is receiving will best equip him for a future riding career.

The Racing Trainee Recruitment Campaign runs from 1 June to 13 July 2018.  Youngsters aged 15 or above and who have completed Form Three education, are diligent and possess a positive attitude, and have a passion for sports, are welcome to apply.
